Declaration

A declaration is an instrument that can be used to monitor whether a supplier meets the requirements in a specific area of interest. A statement is created for each area of interest (for example quality management or environmental management) that a purchasing organization wants to monitor. Statements are added to a supplier when the relevant area of interest is relevant to a supplier. This is to prevent statements for irrelevant areas of interest from becoming visible at a supplier. To determine whether a supplier meets the stated requirements, a document (or set of documents) can be added to a declaration. This is called a declaration document.

Validity
A supplier's evidence that it meets the requirements for a specific area of interest is valid. Multiple versions of a declaration document can be added per declaration. Each declaration document has its own validity.
